PUCL Delhi works with various sections of society to defend the ideals of liberty, equality, fraternity and justice enshrined in the Preamble to the Constitution of India.

In order to raise public consciousness

1. It promotes the above ideals through organizing meetings, seminars, conferences and discussions on socially relevant issues.
2. It conducts fact findings and publishes reports as and when required.
3. It mobilizes public opinion in favour of a better climate for protection of civil liberties in the country
4. It provides a platform for all groups as well as individuals who come together to promote the above mentioned ideals.
5. It organizes webinars and talk shows and uses social media to further the cause of Civil Liberties.
6. It advocates the principles of non violence and creatively uses the courts and the media to make people aware about violations of civil liberties and to sensitize them to the human rights situation within the country.
7. It takes preventive steps to ensure that violations of civil liberties do not take place, and if and when they occur, it attempts to support the violation’s victims by providing them support in courts and raising awareness about their plight and by other means.
8. It files Public Interest Litigation’s for the redressal of civil liberties and promotion of human rights as and when required. Its intervention on various issues have been highly appreciated in various judgments.
9. It helps vulnerable groups and marginalized sections of society in securing justice and provides them help as and when required.
